As the corona virus cases started rising every single day , so did the people anxiety. The whole world came to a standstill, no one had experienced a situation like this. As the experts dug desperately in the chronicles, they happened to draw parellels with the Spanish flu. There were some useful insights from the lessons learnt in the  past How it began & ended.

Spanish flu- 1918

Hundred years from then the world meets its Nemesis again. Unfortuntely even after 100 years, with all the technical, medical breakthrough the measures applied to contain the virus still remain the same. The current situation brings to mind the movie Avengers: Infinty war, with Thanos wiping out half of the popution.
The real life Thanos

When will all this end , thought Aakash, with no source of income and being locked up in house, it felt nothing more than being holed up in jail. The liabilities which he had were surmounting as each day passed. Priya was extremely supportive of him , however at the back of her mind she too had the fear of loosing it all.
Aakash tried to retrospect , of What went wrong with his last job. There were still people working for the same company, Mahesh or the Bi**h did not lose their job," Why me?", he thought. There was an endless saga of sleepless nights, continous thoughts, rising furstration.Aakash started loosing his temper on silly things which only worsened things for Priya and the kids.

Nothing strikes harder than Life

Well it was almost 15 days for Aakash with no job, he tried to apply desperately on job portals, calling up friends for a job referral, to no luck. Being stuck up, nowhere to go, he was aghast. The thought of the next EMI, school fees, household expense send shivers down his spine. As he thought about all of it, he rememebered his childhood friend Vivek.
Vivek and Aakash had been really thick friends, they had been to the same school and college. Vivek worked as a finance consultant, at a private firm. After passing out with good grades from college, he had got placed into an MNC. Life was going great untill the 2008 recession, he had lost his job overnight then.
Below are a few points which Vivek advised Aakash to follow:-

1. Move on:- This is something which differentiates winners from losers. The ability to digest failure/tragedy/break-up/set back and to move on to the next level. Moving on is the first step to free yourself from the schakles of defeat.

2. SWOT anlysis:- An analysis to understand oneself.

3. Networking:- To get in touch wih old colleagues , peers, superiors to enquire regrading a new opportunity. There is no shame in asking for help, as each and everyone has been through this situation.

4. Reskill/ Upskill:- Successful people are always working on themselves. There is a constant need to learn something new, which sets them apart from other people.

5. Restart:- This is a good time to look at other career options. It is always going to be difficult to restart a career , as after 10 years of expereince he would have to start from scratch.

6. Business Ideas:- Think of the side hustle , or that hobby or that unfulfilled dream, you always dreamt off. However easy said than done there is a huge difference in pursuing an hobby and carrying out a business.

Aakash contemplated with all the options , he decided to try out all the options.

to be contd....
